ExcelLink for Autodesk® Revit® · Last updated: March 2026
Overview
ExcelLink for Autodesk® Revit® is developed and published by Haluk Uzuner. This policy explains what data the add-in collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.
The add-in is designed to operate with minimal data collection. Your Autodesk® Revit® project data and Excel files remain entirely on your own machine and are never transmitted to any server.
Data Collected
The add-in collects only the minimum data necessary to operate the license validation system:
- License key — entered by you during activation. Transmitted to the license server for validation.
- Machine identifier — a hardware-based identifier used to associate a license with a specific device. This is not personally identifiable information.
- Activation timestamp — the date and time of the most recent successful license check. Stored locally to support the 30-day offline grace period.
License Validation
When the add-in starts, it contacts the license validation server to verify that the license key is valid. The following data is sent during this check:
- Your license key
- A machine identifier (not linked to your name or email)
License sessions are logged on the server with a timestamp and machine identifier. Session logs are retained for 45 days and then permanently deleted.
The add-in supports offline use for up to 30 days after the last successful validation. No data is transmitted during offline operation.
What We Don't Collect
The following data is never collected, transmitted, or stored:
- Your name, email address, or any personal contact information
- Autodesk® Revit® project files, model data, or parameter values
- Excel files or their contents
- Usage statistics, telemetry, or crash reports
Data Retention
License records are retained for the duration of the license validity period, then deleted upon expiry.
Session logs (timestamp + machine ID) are retained for 45 days and then permanently deleted.
Local activation data is stored in your Windows application data folder and is removed when the add-in is uninstalled.
Third Parties
The add-in does not share any data with third parties. The license validation server is operated exclusively by Haluk Uzuner and is not shared with any external service provider.
The add-in uses the following open-source libraries, which operate entirely locally and transmit no data:
- ClosedXML — for reading and writing Excel files
- Newtonsoft.Json — for configuration file serialization
Your Rights
You have the right to request deletion of any data associated with your license key. Upon request, license records and associated session logs will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
