Everything you need for
parameter management

Bidirectional Exchange

Export parameters to Excel with full metadata, edit values in a familiar spreadsheet environment, then import changes back into the model in a single operation.

🔗

Linked Document Support

Read parameters from linked Autodesk® Revit® files alongside host model elements. Linked elements are clearly marked in the exported spreadsheet.

Multi-Category Export

Select one or more categories, choose which parameters to include, and export everything to a single workbook — either one sheet per category or a unified sheet.

🎯

Smart Parameter Matching

Parameters are matched by GUID for shared parameters and by internal ID for built-in parameters, ensuring reliable roundtrips even with similarly named parameters.

💾

Save & Load Configuration

Save your category and parameter selections for each project. Load the same configuration next time to instantly repeat the same export.

🔒

Safe Import

Read-only and type parameters are exported for reference but never written back. Color coding clearly indicates which cells are writable before you start.

Workflow
Four steps to
a clean parameter roundtrip
01

Select categories & parameters

Open ExcelLink from the Autodesk® Revit® ribbon. Choose one or more element categories from the list, then select the parameters you want to export. Drag to reorder columns. Optionally include type parameters and linked document elements.

02

Export to Excel

Click Export. ExcelLink writes a structured .xlsx file with one row per element. Row 1 contains hidden metadata required for import. Column A holds the Unique ID used for element matching — do not modify either.

03

Edit values in Excel

Open the file in Microsoft Excel and edit the writable parameter values. White cells are editable. Pink cells are read-only, yellow cells are type parameters, and gray cells belong to linked elements.

04

Import back to Autodesk® Revit®

Return to Autodesk® Revit®, open ExcelLink, and click Import. Select the saved file. ExcelLink matches each row to its element by Unique ID and writes the updated values back in a single transaction.
